On Wednesday, June 12, at 11:30 p.m., Toms River police responded to a residence at Adams Avenue after Anthony Brown retrieved a handgun and fired two shots at a vehicle, striking a man, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said.
Brown and the victim both fled the scene, authorities said. The victim was located and transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where he was treated and released, Billhimer said.
Brown was sentenced to four years in prison for aggravated assault and five years in prison on weapons charges, the sentences will run concurrently, Billhimer said. He pleaded guilty to both charges in January, Billhimer said.
